On 25 November 2016, the AER granted the Applicant(s) an exemption from the requirement to register as a network service provider and the operation of Chapter 5 of the National Electricity Rules. The exemption was granted under clause 2.9.3(b) of the NER. This exemption is based on the registration by AEMO of the each of the partners in the Ausgrid Operator Partnership (ABN 78 508 211 731) as an intermediary on behalf of the applicant, pursuant to clause 2.9.3(d) of the NER.
