On 15 August 2019 the AER decided to grant a waiver under clause 5 of the Electricity Distribution Ring-fencing Guideline to Essential Energy. This waiver allows Essential Energy to provide training services in Armidale, Culcairn and Glen Innes. These locations have been added to the 33 locations in which Essential Energy is permitted to provide these services under a waiver granted in December 2017.
