The AER is required under the transitional provisions within Chapter 11 of the National Electricity Rules (the transitional chapter 6 rules) to make a distribution determination for Essential Energy (Country Energy) in relation to the New South Wales electricity distribution network. On 2 June 2008, Essential Energy (Country Energy) submitted their regulatory proposal to the AER.
The AER released its final decision and distribution determination on 28 April 2009 for Essential Energy (Country Energy) for the regulatory control period 1 July 2009 to 30 June 2014.
On 25 November 2009 the AER published a further final decision in accordance with the Australian Competition Tribunal's decision.
