On 24 November 2021, CS Energy Ltd (CS Energy), as the Nominated Generator for Gladstone Power Station, gave notice to the AER under National Electricity Rules (NER) clause 9.34.6(e) about non-compliance with its mandatory primary frequency response requirements under NER clause 4.4.2(c1) in relation to Gladstone Power Station.
CS Energy is a party to an Interconnection Power Pooling Agreement (IPPA) for Gladstone Power Station, which is an exempt generation agreement under NER clause 9.34.6.
The AER has assessed that CS Energy’s non-compliance with its mandatory primary frequency response requirements for Gladstone Power Station had no effect on the efficient operation of the spot market for the period 1 January 2022 to 31 March 2022.
