The Australian Energy Regulator (AER) has made a draft decision on the amount of revenue AusNet Services in Victoria is allowed to recover from energy consumers using its transmission network in the 2022–27 regulatory period.

The draft decision allows AusNet Services to recover $2837.8 million from its customers during the five-year regulatory period, a 2.9 per cent decrease in revenue compared to the current 2017–22 period.

The AER expects to receive further information from AusNet Services in its revised proposal on a number of items including increases for cyber security and council rates. This will likely increase the revenue allowed in the final decision. AusNet Services now has the opportunity to consider the draft decision and submit a revised proposal by 2 September 2021. The AER will make a final decision by 31 January 2022.

A final round of targeted and public consultation will also take place, including an online forum hosted by AER Board member Eric Groom on Thursday, 5 August 2021. To register your interest in the online public forum please email AusNetServicesataer [dot] gov [dot] au (subject: Registration%20for%20public%20forum%20on%20AusNet%20Services%20transmission%20draft%20decision) (AusNetServices[at]aer[dot]gov[dot]au).
