On 24 July 2020 Jemena Electricity Network submitted an application to vary a waiver of the Ring-fencing Guideline - Electricity Distribution under clause 5.2 of the Guideline. Subsequently on 19 August 2020 AusNet Services, CitiPower/Powercor and United Energy submitted their respective applications.
The Victorian electricity distributors applied to extend the expiry date of existing ring-fencing waivers, originally granted to each Victorian electricity distributor in 2017, by six months from 31 December 2020 to 30 June 2021. The extension aligns with the six month extension to the current Victorian electricity distribution regulatory control period.
On 16 October 2020, we published our Final Decision to grant the Victorian electricity distributor's application to extend the waiver expiry date as requested.
