On 18 March 2020 SA Power Networks submitted an application to vary a waiver of the Ring-fencing Guideline - Electricity Distribution under clause 5.2 of the Guideline. Subsequently SA Power Networks submitted an addendum on 3 April 2020 to the waiver variation application. SA Power Networks applied to extend the expiry date of an existing ring-fencing waiver that allows the distributor to provide temporary generation services for the SA Government, from the original expiry date of 1 June 2020 to 1 December 2020 for the 'temporary generation south' site, and to 31 June 2021 for the 'temporary generation north' site.
On 1 May 2020, we published our final decision to grant SA Power Networks' application to extend the waiver expiry date as requested.
