Victorian electricity distributor United Energy has applied for early implementation of Demand Management Incentive Scheme (DMIS) projects.
United Energy’s proposal follows recent AER approvals of applications from AusNet Services, Energy Queensland, Ausgrid and Endeavour Energy for early application of the scheme.
The AER published details of the revised DMIS in December 2017. The new scheme encourages distribution businesses to find lower-cost solutions to investing in network solutions. To enable greater uptake, amendments to the National Electricity Rules were made in July 2018 to allow early application of the new DMIS.
The AER continues to invite electricity distributors to provide proposals for early application of DMIS under the revised scheme.
Invitation for submissions
Stakeholders’ submissions on United Energy’s proposal for the early implementation of the new DMIS are welcomed. Submissions close on 23 July 2019.
