The AER today published the draft legislative instrument to accompany its draft Default Market Offer (DMO) Prices Determination for consultation.
The AER is seeking stakeholder comments on the form and comprehensibility of the draft instrument. The draft legislative instrument reflects the figures in our draft DMO prices determination.
Stakeholders are invited to comment on the form of the draft legislative instrument by Monday, 25 March 2019.
Feedback about the AER’s approach to developing DMO prices should be made as part of the consultation process for the draft DMO prices determination. Submissions to this process close on Wednesday, 20 March 2019.
The AER is scheduled to make its final DMO Prices Determination by 30 April 2019.
Background
Under the draft Competition and Consumer (Industry Code–Electricity Retail) Regulations 2019 (the draft Code), the AER is required to determine for different distribution zones and customers types:
- the annual amount of electricity supplied to customers
- the timing and pattern of the supply, and
- what the AER considers a reasonable annual price for that supply.
The draft DMO prices determination, published in February 2019, sets out our draft position on these issues.
