The National Electricity Rules (NER) and the National Gas Rules (NGR) each create alternative dispute resolution framework for the non-litigious management of disputes between energy market participants, and between energy market participants and the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO).
Under the NER and NGR the AER must appoint an independent Dispute Resolution Adviser to administer these frameworks.
The AER released a Request for Tender to appoint a Dispute Resolution Adviser to commence from 1 July 2016. The period for submission of tenders has been extended to 2:00pm on Monday 16 May.
A position description and information regarding the tender process can be found on the AusTender website. Further information relating to the Dispute Resolution Adviser can also be found on the AER website.
Any questions regarding the tender process and statement of requirements must be submitted in writing to rfoaccc [dot] gov [dot] au (rfo[at]accc[dot]gov[dot]au).
