The AER has received proposals from the five Victorian electricity distributors for charges to apply to smart meters in 2015. These charges are based on additional expenditures the business incurred that exceeded their previously set regulatory allowance. Additionally, four of the companies (Citipower, Jemena, Powercor and United Energy) have proposed to charge customers a manual meter, as per a State government order in council.
