The Australian Energy Regulator (AER) has issued a draft report and revised guideline regarding its approach to reporting requirements and monitoring standards in the electricity market (guideline on the imposition of additional or more onerous requirements, procedures or standards under clause 8.7.2(g) of the National Electricity Rules). The draft report sets out the AER’s reasoning and conclusions regarding the approach it intends to take regarding reporting requirements and monitoring standards in the electricity market, having due regard to submissions received during the consultation process to date. The revised guideline reflects the conclusions reached in the draft report.
Going forward, the process followed by the AER will be as follows:
- Publication of draft report and call for submissions on the draft report – 1 February 2011.
- Publication of the Guideline – 29 March 2011.
The AER invites comments on the draft report. The closing date for submissions is Tuesday 15 February 2011. Subject to any confidentiality claims, the AER is required by clause 8.9(g) of the National Electricity Rules to make available to all consulted persons, on request, copies of any material submitted. Submissions received will be made available on the AER’s website.
