The Australian Energy Regulator (AER) has received pricing proposals from the Qld distribution network service providers (DNSPs), Energex and Ergon Energy, for the regulatory year 2010–11.
The AER is required to approve these pricing proposals if it is satisfied that they comply with the rules relating to distribution pricing and the distribution determination, and all associated forecasts are reasonable.
Clauses 6.18.2(c) of the National Electricity Rules (NER) require the AER to publish the pricing proposals. The proposals are available on the AER’s website.
The distribution pricing rules applicable to the Qld DNSPs are set out in chapter 6 of the NER. The NER do not require the AER to follow the distribution consultation procedures in assessing the proposals. The AER is scheduled to make its determination on the proposals in early June.
