On 2 July 2018 the Energy Users Association of Australia (EUAA) lodged a written notice with the AER disputing the conclusions made in Ausgrid’s final project assessment report for the for the regulatory investment test for distribution (final RIT-D report) associated with a project to address reliability in the Sydney Central Business District area (Sydney CBD Project). The final RIT-D report recommended an investment to transfer the City East and Dalley Street zone substation loads to the neighbouring Belmore Park zone substation via one 2x10 duct bank along College Street, followed by decommissioning the 2 aging substations.
Determination
On 25 October 2018 the AER published a determination clause 5.17.5 of the National Electricity Rules. The determination found that Ausgrid applied the RIT-D in accordance with the National Electricity Rules, and was therefore not required to amend its final RIT-D report.
