On 24 February 2016, the Australian Energy Regulator (AER) approved a retailer authorisation application from SparQ Pty Ltd (trading as Sumo Power) under the National Energy Retail Law. Sumo Power is now authorised to retail electricity as and when the National Energy Retail Law is adopted in each participating jurisdiction.
The AER sought submissions from interested stakeholders. Consultation on the application closed on 3 February 2016. No submissions were received.
Change of entity name
Before 25 October 2017, Sumo Power Pty Ltd was known as SparQ Pty Ltd (trading as Sumo Power).
