On 12 December 2013, Pooled Energy Pty Limited (Pooled Energy) was authorised by the Australian Energy Regulator (AER) to sell electricity in accordance with section 92 of the National Energy Retail Law (Retail Law).
On Tuesday 24 May 2022, Pooled Energy was suspended from the National Electricity Market (NEM) by the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) for failing to comply with AEMO requirements. This constituted a Retailer of Last Resort (RoLR) event under the Retail Law.
Under section 142 of the Retail Law, the AER revoked Pooled Energy's electricity retailer authorisation (AER reference E13052) on 24 May 2022. This means that, for the purposes of section 88 of the Retail Law, Pooled Energy must not sell electricity to a person for premises in New South Wales, Queensland, the Australian Capital Territory, South Australia or Tasmania.
