The AER is currently seeking expressions of interest for membership to its Customer Consultative Group (CCG).

Under the proposed National Energy Customer Framework, the AER is to establish and maintain a CCG. The CCG is to provide advice to the AER in relation to our functions under the energy laws that affect consumers.

CCG membership will provide organisations and/or individuals with the opportunity to inform the AER about issues that impact on the groups they represent. It will also provide members with the opportunity to meet with other consumer representatives on key energy consumer issues.

It is anticipated that the group will commence meeting in February 2010, and will comprise approximately six consumer organisations. The main focus of the group will be retail and non-price distribution regulatory issues. The AER aims to achieve a balance and variety of interests and perspectives among the membership and is encouraging both national and state based consumer representatives to apply.

Applications addressing the selection criteria must be received by 5:00pm AEST on Monday 7 September 2009. Please refer to the attached application form and terms of appointment for further information.
