The AER today published its gas annual compliance report for service providers of covered gas transmission and distribution pipelines. The process aims to monitor the activities of pipeline operators to ensure that they fulfil the ring fencing requirements and other general duties under the National Gas Law (NGL) and National Gas Rules (NGR).
The AER assessed each report and found that Jemena Gas Networks (JGN) is the only pipeline operator to have raised compliance issues.
JGN reported instances of inadvertent disclosure of customer meter data in breach of the NGR. The breaches occurred because of a new IT system relating to customer transfer process. The AER sought the implementation of system improvements by JGN to prevent the risk of such events recurring.
Following a detailed review, JGN confirmed that it had implemented the necessary process improvements and confirmed that it did not have any further instances of non-compliance.
