The AER is required to report annually on compliance under the National Energy Retail Law. The report covers the period 1 July 2013 to 30 June 2014 and is our second annual compliance report.
The report details our approach to ensuring compliance with the Retail Law and Rules, and reports on specific compliance and enforcement activities we have undertaken throughout 2013-14. The report also identifies compliance issues we have observed in the market, and outlines the steps we are taking now and into the future to address them.
The Retail Law commenced in the ACT and Tasmania (for electricity only) on 1 July 2012, in South Australia on 1 February 2013 and in New South Wales on 1 July 2013.
