Background
This bulletin highlighted two compliance issues pertaining to disclosure of confidential information by participants in the National Electricity Market (NEM). The first was retailers providing agents undertaking customer acquisition activities on their behalf with access to National Metering Identifier (NMI) standing data. The second was distributors providing direct access to energy or metering data to consumers with smart meters.
Since the bulletin was published, the National Electricity Rules have been changed to allow access in both circumstances. Therefore, this bulletin is no longer necessary and has been withdrawn.
