NSW electricity network tariffs for the upcoming year will remain relatively stable after the Australian Energy Regulator today released approved charges for 2018-19.
AER chair Paula Conboy said the decision demonstrated the AER’s commitment to prioritising customer value when setting network spending.
“Overall network tariffs are remaining stable for NSW. Consumers should not be paying more than they need for reliable and safe electricity,” said Ms. Conboy.
There are mixed results for retailers in NSW. The typical retail bill for Ausgrid and Endeavour Energy customers should fall by around $4.00 and $3.00 respectively, while Essential Energy customers will see their tariffs rise by around $19.00 respectively for the 12 months from 1 July.
“People should always shop around for the best deal possible for their situation. The AER’s Energy Made Easy website is a free and independent price comparison website that helps people find the power deal that works best for them,” said Ms. Conboy.
