The Australian Energy Regulator (AER) has today announced that Anthea Harris has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of the AER.
Ms Harris is currently Chief Executive Officer of the Energy Security Board (ESB).
Prior to her role at the ESB, Anthea was Deputy Secretary of the Energy Group within the Victorian Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning. Anthea has previously been Chief Executive Officer of the Climate Change Authority having established this agency from the ground up and has held senior roles within the Commonwealth Department of Climate Change and Energy Efficiency. Anthea also led the Secretariat for the National Emissions Trading Taskforce.
Welcoming Ms Harris’s wealth of experience and passion for the sector, AER Chair Ms Clare Savage said:

Ms Harris commences as Chief Executive Officer on 30 January 2023.
