The AER invites interested stakeholders to register for a half-day workshop to further develop the AER’s approach to engagement across all areas of our work in wholesale and retail markets and network regulation.
The workshop will be a key input into the review of our Stakeholder Engagement Framework that guides our public engagement with consumers, energy businesses and other stakeholders affected by our activities. Its purpose is to ensure that stakeholder needs and interests are consistently, transparently and meaningfully considered in our activities, including those processes through which we reach decisions.
The workshop will be held via video conference in Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Darwin, Hobart, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney at 10:00am (AEDT) on Thursday 23 February 2017. You can register your attendance by emailing SEFreviewaer [dot] gov [dot] au (SEFreview[at]aer[dot]gov[dot]au). Please specify your name, title, agency, contact details and which office location you will be attending when registering. Registrations will be accepted until 17 February 2017.
The workshop agenda will be circulated to registered participants closer to the event. We will be exploring some of the opportunities identified in the 2016 AER Stakeholder Survey and in our preliminary consultation with workshop participants. We also invite participants to contribute case studies which they consider illustrate better practice examples of consultation and engagement processes (from within and outside the energy sector) to discuss at the workshop.
