On 8 November 2016 the Australian Energy Regulator (AER) accepted an application from Ultium Energy Pty Ltd for an electricity retailer authorisation under the National Energy Retail Law.
This application replaces the application made by Ultium Energy Pty Ltd in October 2016. On 7 November 2016, due to a change in directorship, Ultium Energy Pty Ltd withdrew this application and reapplied for an electricity retailer authorisation.
Invitation for submissions
We are now inviting submissions from interested stakeholders on Ultium Energy Pty Ltd's application by Friday 9 December 2016.
Submissions should be emailed “Attention: General Manager, Retail Markets Branch” to AERAuthorisationsaer [dot] gov [dot] au (AERAuthorisations[at]aer[dot]gov[dot]au) with the following title in the email: Ultium Energy Pty Ltd application for an electricity retailer authorisation.

We will take into account submissions in deciding whether or not to grant Ultium Energy Pty Ltd an authorisation.
The AER prefers that all submissions be sent in an electronic format in Microsoft Word or other text readable document form and publicly available, to facilitate an informed, transparent and robust consultation process. Accordingly, submissions will be treated as public documents and posted on the AER's website, unless prior arrangements are made with the AER to treat the submission, or portions of it, as confidential. Those wishing to submit confidential information are requested to:
- clearly identify the information that is the subject of the confidentiality claim; and
- provide a non-confidential version of the submission.
