On 9 July 2019, the Australian Energy Regulator (AER) approved a gas retailer authorisation from Tas Gas Retail Pty Ltd (Tas Gas Retail) under the National Energy Retail Law (Retail Law). Tas Gas Retail is now authorised to retail gas as and when the Retail Law is adopted in each participating jurisdiction.
The AER sought submissions from interested stakeholders. Consultation on the application closed on 17 April 2019. No submissions were received.
