We are deeply saddened by the recent passing of Dr Gill Owen, who was an inaugural member of the AER’s Consumer Challenge Panel.
The Board and staff of the AER extend our deepest sympathies and condolences to Gill’s family and loved ones.
Gill made a significant contribution through her intelligence, enthusiasm and commitment. Her dedication to her work helped to bring about real benefits to the Australian community.
After an outstanding career in the UK energy sector, which included a strong focus on advocating for the interests of consumers, Gill moved to Australia in 2012. Gill continued this work in Australia, assisting the AER in setting up the CCP and then continuing on as a panel member. Within a short space of time, Gill established a strong reputation in the Australian energy industry amongst regulators, industry, academia and consumer advocacy groups.
We will miss her a great deal.
