The AER is preparing to undertake regulatory determinations for distribution network service providers (DNSPs) in Queensland and South Australia to apply in the 2010-15 regulatory control period. The National Electricity Rules require that in preparing to make these determinations, the AER must publish framework and approach papers relevant to each DNSP. These papers must set out, among other things, the AER's likely approach to the application (if applicable) to DNSPs of demand management incentive schemes to provide incentives for DNSPs to implement efficient non-network alternatives or to manage the expected demand for standard control services in some other way.
To assist in developing framework and approach papers for the Queensland and South Australian determination processes, the AER has prepared an issues paper on the potential development of demand management incentive schemes to apply to the DNSPs in these jurisdictions. This issues paper is attached and is available at the AER's website.
