Registrations are now open for the Gill Owen Memorial Lecture hosted by the Australian Energy Regulator (AER). The event will be held at 3.30 pm on 7 February 2018 at the State Library Victoria – Village Roadshow Theatrette.
The lecture will commemorate Dr Gill Owen and her contribution in helping the AER to improve consumer participation our decisions setting network revenues; Ms Sharon Darcy, Director of Sustainability First in the United Kingdom, will deliver the keynote address.
The theme for the lecture will be on improving consumer participation in utility decision-making, particularly given the transformation of the energy sector. This was the focus of much of Dr Owen’s work with the AER.
Dr Owen was instrumental in helping the AER establish its Consumer Challenge Panel and was a founding member. She was also involved in many other projects focussing on sustainability and vulnerable consumers.
The winners of the Gill Owen Essay Prize will also be announced at this event.
How to register
Attendance is free of charge and the event concludes with a networking hour from 5:00pm to 6:00pm. Interested stakeholders are welcome to attend, however, numbers are limited.
