The Australian Energy Regulator (AER) is proud to host the 2020 Dr Gill Owen Forum on fairness for consumers in the energy transition. Registrations are now open for the event, which will be held on 25 February 2020 from 6 pm at ‘Treetops’ at the Melbourne Museum.
The event commemorates Dr Gill Owen and her contribution in helping the AER to improve energy consumer outcomes. Dr Owen was instrumental in helping the AER establish its Consumer Challenge Panel and was a founding member. She was also involved in many other projects focusing on sustainability and vulnerable consumers.
Mr David Green, Chair of Warmworks Scotland, will present a UK perspective on energy fairness and Gill’s legacy. AER Chair, Clare Savage, will then launch a Consumer Policy Research Centre report commissioned by the AER into regulatory approaches to consumer vulnerability. This will be followed by a panel discussion including David and Clare, before networking and refreshments.
The winners of the Gill Owen Essay Prize for 2020 will also be announced at this event.
