The Australian Energy Regulator (AER) has today released a notice inviting submissions on whether it is necessary or desirable to amend or replace the current:

  • Queensland Framework and approach (F&A) paper for Energex and Ergon Energy for the next regulatory control period of 1 July 2015 to 30 June 2020.
  • South Australia F&A paper for SA Power Networks (formerly ETSA Utilities) for the next regulatory control period of 1 July 2015 to 30 June 2020.

The AER has also released an Information sheet on the purpose of the F&A to assist interested parties. This includes a high level explanation of the matters the AER may amend or replace in its F&A paper under the National Electricity Rules.

Invitation for submissions

Interested parties are invited to make written submissions on this Guideline. This consultation will inform the AER's approach to the development of the Framework and approach papers. All submissions and comments must be made by close of business, 31 July 2013.

The AER prefers that all submissions be sent in an electronic format in Microsoft Word or other text readable document form and publicly available, to facilitate an informed, transparent and robust consultation process. Accordingly, submissions will be treated as public documents and posted on the AER's website, unless prior arrangements are made with the AER to treat the submission, or portions of it, as confidential. Those wishing to submit confidential information are requested to:

  • clearly identify the information that is the subject of the confidentiality claim; and
  • provide a non-confidential version of the submission.
