We are seeking submissions on Sustainable Asset Co Pty Ltd's application for an individual exemption from the requirement to register as a network service provider with AEMO under the National Electricity Law. Submissions are due by Wednesday 21 February 2024.
This is the first time the AER has considered an individual exemption application of this nature and we encourage submissions from interested stakeholders.
Sustainable Asset Co Pty Ltd is seeking an individual exemption to own, operate and control a large-scale embedded network within a broadacre residential development at Oakden Rise, Corner Fosters and Grand Junction Roads, Oakden SA 5086.
Oakden Rise is a 52 hectare site located 9 km North of Adelaide's CBD that is currently under construction and will involve the reticulation of private electrical infrastructure across public roads and easements within the development.
When completed, Oakden Rise will consist of approximately 1,310 residential dwellings (with each having a minimum 1.5 kW photo voltaic (PV) system installed), a resident's club (common area), large open spaces with parklands, playgrounds and walking trails.
The application proposes residents of Oakden Rise be supplied electricity via an embedded network instead of directly by the local distribution network service provider.
