The ACCC/AER has issued a new Information Policy, to replace the ACCC’s October 2000 publication: Collection and Use of Information.
This guideline sets out the general policy of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission and the Australian Energy Regulator on the collection, use and disclosure of information.
The purpose of this guideline is to provide clarity as to how the ACCC/AER:
- obtains information (including guidance on how to provide information to the ACCC/AER)
- uses that information (including the use of information obtained for one matter, for another matter)
- discloses that information outside the ACCC/AER.
Electronic copies of this policy are available from the AER's website.
