On 4 October 2012, the AER accepted an application for gas retailer authorisation from ERM Power Retail Pty Ltd (ERM Power Retail).
ERM Power Retail is a wholly owned subsidiary of ERM Power Limited (ERM Power). ERM Power is a publicly listed company registered on the Australian Securities Exchange, which operates electricity generation, gas exploration and procurement. ERM Power Retail is ERM Power’s electricity sales retail business, which has been operating since 2007. It is a niche retailer focusing on large commercial and industrial customers. ERM Power Retail is looking to expand its retail business to include gas.
Invitation for submissions
The AER invites submissions on the application by COB Monday 5 November 2012. Submissions should be made in relation to the applicant’s ability to meet the entry criteria, as prescribed by section 90 of the Retail Law, and set out in the AER’s Retailer authorisation guideline.
