The Australian Energy Regulator has received a request from the Australian Government to begin developing a default market offer price and a reference bill in line with the Australian Government’s decision to adopt Recommendations 30, 32, 49 and 50 of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission’s recent enquiry into electricity prices.
The AER will publish a paper in early November to commence the process of consultation with stakeholders in relation to the default market offer price.
The default market price and reference bill will be determined by 30 April 2019 for a commencement date of 1 July 2019.
