The NER allows the AER to develop and publish a demand management incentive scheme (DMIS) to provide incentives for DNSPs to implement efficient non-network alternatives or to manage the expected demand for standard control services in some other way.
The AER has started its preparations for making distribution determinations for Energex, Ergon Energy and ETSA Utilities for the regulatory control period 1 July 2010 to 30 June 2015. As part of this process the AER is required to set out its likely approach to certain matters, including the application of a DMIS.
On 30 June 2008, the AER released a proposed DMIS to apply to Energex, Ergon Energy and ETSA Utilities over the 2010-15 regulatory control periods. Submissions received on the proposed DMIS are available on the AER’s website.
After consideration of submissions, the AER has now released the final DMIS to apply to Energex, Ergon Energy, and ETSA Utilities in the 2010-15 regulatory control periods. The DMIS and the AER’s final decision (attached) can be found on the AER's website.
