On 24 February 2021, the Australian Energy Regulator (AER) accepted an application from Click Energy Pty Ltd (Click Energy) to surrender its electricity and gas retailer authorisations. Click Energy was acquired by AGL Energy Limited on 30 September 2020 and it is intended that customers will be transferred to AGL.

The AER may decide to approve the surrender if the AER is satisfied that arrangements relating to the surrender will appropriately manage the transfer of any retail customers. Under section 105 of the National Energy Retail Regulations, the AER may also place conditions on the transfer of customers (in consultation with AEMO).
