On 23 April 2012, the Australian Energy Regulator (AER) received an application from Blue NRG Pty Ltd for electricity retailer authorisation.
Blue NRG seeks to retail electricity to small to medium business customers. It was granted an electricity retail licence by the Essential Services Commission of Victoria in March 2012. Blue NRG plans to conduct retail operations in Victoria initially, with potential expansion into New South Wales and Queensland.
The AER invites submissions on the application by Monday 28 May 2012. Submissions shoudl be made in relation to the applicant's ability to meet the entry criteria, as prescribed by section 90 of the National Energy Retail Law, as set out in the AER's Retailer Authorisation Guideline.
