The Australian Energy Regulator (AER) has released a draft transmission Demand Management Innovation Allowance Mechanism (DMIAM) for consultation.
This mechanism provides an allowance to transmission network service providers to undertake innovative projects related to demand management. It focuses on encouraging electricity transmission networks to share project learnings across the industry and with consumers.
We initiated our consultation process for the development of the DMIAM by publishing an issues paper on 14 August 2020. After reviewing stakeholders’ submissions to the issues paper, we have prepared a draft DMIAM and an explanatory statement for consultation.
The AER invites stakeholders to submit their views and suggestions on the draft innovation allowance mechanism. This will assist the AER in finalising its final DMIAM by June 2021.
