On 14 May 2015 the AER published its latest Quarterly compliance report: National Electricity and Gas Laws.
The report summarises the AER's compliance monitoring and enforcement activities in the wholesale electricity and gas markets during the January-March 2015 period. It provides an overview of the results of investigations, compliance audits and projects undertaken during the quarter.
A focus of this QCR is the outcome of our enforcement action against Snowy Hydro, a generator in the National Electricity Market. On 12 February 2015 the Federal Court of Australia declared by consent that Snowy Hydro had breached the Rules in relation to following dispatch instructions on nine occasions in 2012 and 2013. This QCR discusses the decision in detail and provides other relevant information on this area of focus.
