At the end of November the AER announced that we will be developing our approach to regulation under the new framework over the next 12 months. This will involve the AER developing a series of guidelines that will set out a new approach to regulation. We also announced that we will hold a videoconference forum on 18 December 2012 to discuss our work program and the consultation process that we are planning.
We are now releasing an issues paper for the forum with more information on the guidelines and our plans for the consultation processes for each work stream. We are also extending the deadline for registration to attend the forum to Friday 14 December 2012. The forum will run from 10 am to 12.30 pm (AEDST).
We are calling this program of work Better Regulation, with a central webpage for the entire program at http://www.aer.gov.au/node/18824. The Better Regulation webpage has all the information on the forum, the forum agenda and our issues paper, as well as links to the new webpages for each of the guidelines we will develop.
