Today the AER published information on regulated electricity distribution businesses. The information was collected by the AER for economic benchmarking, and has been provided in response to Regulatory Information Notices (RIN responses) issued to the businesses. Businesses covered are:

This is a first in a series of information the AER will publish in the next twelve months that will include additional data for expenditure analysis and a national electricity distribution performance report later this year.
Background
The AER collects information from regulated businesses to monitor outcomes against AER determinations, issue performance reports and prepare for future determinations.
Information requirements have evolved with our regulatory responsibilities but generally include the following information:
- Revenues and expenditures
- Incentive scheme information
- Network metrics (such as asset age and network size).
Invitation for submissions
As flagged in the consultation on the economic benchmarking RIN the AER is seeking submissions on the information provided by network service providers. Interested parties are invited to make written submissions to the AER by COB 30 May 2014. Submissions should be sent electronically to: AERinquiry
aer [dot] gov [dot] au (AERinquiry[at]aer[dot]gov[dot]au).
The AER prefers that all submissions are sent in an electronic format in Microsoft Word or other text readable document form and be publically available to facilitate an informed and transparent consultative process. All confidential submissions must be submitted in accordance with the AER’s confidentiality guideline.
