The AER has published translated and easy English fact sheets for small businesses and consumers on their rights and protections if they buy energy from an exempt seller.
Exempt selling occurs when a person or business purchases energy from a retailer and on-sells the energy to their customers, generally through an embedded network. Embedded networks have different metering and wiring configurations to allow this selling arrangement to take place.
The AER governs who can on-sell energy without becoming an authorised retailer, and the conditions exempt sellers have to comply with, via its Retail Exempt Selling Guideline.
The translated languages are Korean, Arabic, Nepali, Vietnamese and Chinese (Simplified and Traditional).
