The Australia Energy Regulator (AER) has released its decision regarding Transgrid and their application of the regulatory investment tests for transmission (RIT-T).
The AER has concluded that Transgrid did not correctly apply the RIT-Ts in accordance with the National Energy Rules (NER) in relation to its RIT-Ts for both North West Slopes Area and Bathurst, Orange and Parkes. This follows a rigorous and careful assessment following disputes raised in relations to Transgrid’s two RIT-Ts.
The AER will require Transgrid to amend its Project Assessment Conclusions Reports (PACRs) for the two RIT-Ts and publish the amended PACRs by 1 February 2023, to ensure the process is completed expeditiously. In amending both PACRs, AER require Transgrid to address matters set out in our determination which relate to selection of reasonable scenarios and discount rate.
