New South Wales electricity distributors Ausgrid and Endeavour Energy have applied for early implementation of Demand Management Incentive Scheme (DMIS) projects.

Ausgrid's and Endeavour Energy’s proposals follow recent AER approvals of applications from AusNet Services and Energy Queensland, acting on behalf of Energex and Ergon Energy, for early application of the scheme.

The AER published details of the revised DMIS in December 2017. The new scheme encourages distribution businesses to find lower-cost solutions to investing in network solutions. To enable greater uptake, amendments to the National Electricity Rules were made in July 2018 to allow early application of the new DMIS.

The AER continues to invite electricity distributors to provide proposals for early application of DMIS under the revised scheme.

Stakeholders’ submissions on Ausgrid's and Endeavour Energy’s proposals for the early implementation of the new DMIS are welcomed. Submission close on 13 February 2019.
