The Australian Energy Regulator (AER) has considered and provided feedback on the tender rules with respect to long-term energy service agreements under the New South Wales Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap. The tender rules were put forward by the Roadmap’s independent Consumer Trustee, AEMO Services Limited.

Today we have published the Consumer Trustee’s tender rules submitted to us for consultation and the correspondence we exchanged.

The Consumer Trustee will use these tender rules to open its tender process for long-term energy service agreements in October.

Long-term energy service agreements are a key element of the Roadmap that offer an option to access price guarantees for eligible generation, long duration storage and firming projects. Our role in this is limited to the Consumer Trustee sharing its tender rules with us for comment. The Consumer Trustee is not required to adopt our feedback.
