The AER will hold a joint stakeholder forum on 1 October 2013 to discuss our draft rate of return guideline. As part of our Better Regulation program we released the draft rate of return guideline and explanatory statement for consultation on 30 August 2013.
This draft guideline sets out the approach we propose to take to determine the allowed rate of return for both electricity and gas service providers. Interested stakeholders are invited to make written submissions by 11 October 2013. We will not be granting any extensions for submissions after this date.
The forum is intended to provide interested stakeholders with an opportunity to clarify aspects of the draft guideline and to present their views on the draft guideline. The forum will also provide an opportunity for interested stakeholders to raise issues they consider should be considered by the AER in finalising the guideline.

Attendance at the forum will be limited to one representative per organisation. We apologise if this causes inconvenience, but we feel it is necessary to keep the session as manageable and interactive as possible. For organisations with more than one person registered, you may be asked to nominate one representative.
