We invite interested stakeholders to register their interest in participating in our review of the treatment of inflation in our regulatory framework, including our current method for estimating expected inflation.
An initiation notice sets out details on the timing and scope of the review; the first step will be the release of a discussion paper inviting stakeholder submissions. We expect to reach a final position by December 2020, with (if required) implementation of changes to our approach in 2021.
This review will advance the National Electricity Objective (NEO) and National Gas Objective (NGO) — creating a positive investment environment supported by effective regulation that will deliver affordable and reliable energy for Australian consumers.
