This figure shows average daily demand* for gas by Gas Powered Generators (GPGs) in the National Electricity Market (NEM), grouped by region, by quarter.
* Estimates are derived using bulletin board data as well as gas amounts calculated from NEM output and from implied heat rates for each gas fired generator in the National Electricity Market (GPG demand). Heat rates are derived from ACIL Tasman’s 2009 Final Report: ‘‘Fuel resource, new entry and generation costs in the NEM’.
