On 1 July 2014, the Tasmanian Government merged Transend ‘s electricity transmission business with Aurora’s electricity distribution business. The new company, Tasmanian Networks Pty Limited, trading as TasNetworks, now manages the electricity transmission and distribution networks in Tasmania. Aurora Energy is now only a retail energy business.
