The AER released its final transmission service target performance incentive scheme and final decision on 31 August 2007 as required under chapter 6A of the National Electricity Rules (NER). The final decision sets out the AER’s reasons for the scheme.

For the three transmission network service providers (TNSPs) due to lodge their revenue proposals by 31 May 2008 (TransGrid, Transend and EnergyAustralia), the AER will commence a review of the parameters that apply to these businesses under the scheme immediately and finalise the scheme to apply to those TNSPs by at the latest 1 April 2008. This review will be undertaken in accordance with the transmission consultation procedures of the NER.
Please also note that there are additional guidelines that must be developed and/or maintained by the AER to complete the package of transmission regulatory guidelines under chapter 6A. The AER will make further announcements as these guidelines are finalised.
